The renowned non governmental organisation Angel’s Cultural Academy in Collaboration with valley’s heritage educational institute Amar Singh College’s Urdu Department organised the Mehfil e Mushaira at it’s Bukhari hall where the budding poets and poetesses gathered together under one roof, expressed their urdu couplets to add bliss and beauty to urdu poetry which acts as integral to the complex of literature in the indian subcontinent.

The respected diginitaries were also present in program which included Abid Hussain Additional Commissioner Kashmir,VC Cluster University Qayoom Hussain Sahab, Registrar Cluster university Khursheed Ahmad Mir, Principal Amar Singh College Prof. Basheer Ahmad Rather,Dr.Satish Vimal,Dr.Deeba Sarmad, Dr.Kousar Muzamil (HOD Urdu Department )etc who showered their encouragement and shared their good thoughts with participants and make them to continue to prosper in poetry with their willful and constant productivity.

The awards and prizes were also distributed among the participants, guests and members of Angel’s Cultural Academy who made the today’s program successful. Though today’s Mushaira Programme was actually scheduled in January 22 but due to covid disturbances all over such program couldn’t be held while keeping the abnormal circumstances in view. Today finally it could be held with the endveour of Angel’s Cultural Academy and Department of Urdu, Amar Singh College.

At the conclusion of today’s prestigious programme Mr. Tariq Ahmad Shera made a sincere appeal to youth and their parents to keep the enthusiasm of speaking urdu language alive and never let it extinguish. Urdu language is one of the most spoken language in india subcontinent which is having it’s vast glorious past history and to it the renowned poets like Sir Mohammad Iqbal, Sir Syed khan, Munshi Prem Chand, Mir Taqi Mir etc blessed a soul and kept it alive from time to time and made it more beautiful.

The grand event of its Graduation Day was celebrated by SSM College of Engineering, Divar Parihaspora on 31st March 2022 in its campus to felicitate passed-out students in different streams. Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Hon’ ble Vice-Chancellor Sheri Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology (SKUAST) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmad Shah Hon’ ble Vice-Chancellor Central University of Kashmir and Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Aima Former Vice-Chancellor Central University of Jammu were the guests of honour.

The other dignitaries present on the event included Mohd. Shafi Pandit (IAS) Former Chairman JK Public Service Commission, Mohd. Ashraf Fazli Former Chief Engineer PWD, Er. Aamir Ali Director Disaster Management, Prof. (Dr.) M.A. Shah, HOD Physics NIT Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) A. H. Moon Dean School of Engineering & Technology IUST, Awantipora, Mr. Mehraj-ud-din Wani (KAS).

Welcoming the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and other Hon’ble Guests and dignitaries Mrs. Dilafrose Qazi, Vice-Chairperson of the Institute highlighted to achievements /performance and future plans for improvement in academic excellence consistent with new National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020-21. She also made reference of the collaborative efforts being made with different Organization/Institutions to benefit the students in achieving efficiency in the fields of learning and specialization by way of additional courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Business Analytics etc under the aegis of AICTE, IBM, ISTE etc.

She also stressed upon the role being played by the Institution for overall development of the society in general and local community in particular. Vice-Chairperson also informed the gathering that the Institution besides providing facilities for conduct of various CBTS (online) being conducted at National and State level has played its role to fight against COVID-19 pandemic by way of providing its infrastructure for Quarantine Centre and conducting awareness campus/Covid-19 testing/vaccination facilities.
The Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Ganai, while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts put in by the Management of the Institution in creating excellent infrastructure facilities for making this Institution one of the prestigious Institutes of Northern India.

The Hon’ ble Chief Guest while congratulating the passed out students laid stress upon optimum use of natural resources and enhancement of skills in tune with new National Education Policy 2020.
Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Aima Former Vice-Chancellor Central University of Jammu Guest of Honour while speaking on the occasion facilitated the students for completing their degrees and expected them to play a better role in Nation Building. He laid thrust upon building Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation platforms so as to encourage students to go for entrepreneurship endeavors in a big way.
Prof. (Dr.) Farooq A. Shah Vice Chancellor, Central University of Kashmir, in his speech laid stress on diversification of courses and addition of social sciences to the curriculum in tune with National Education Policy 2020.

An impression Certificate Presentation to the passed out students took place immediately after the addresses by Hon’ble Chief Guests and Guests of Honour.
On this occasion Dr. Sajad Hussain Din Principal SSM College of Engineering, Prof. (Dr.) N.A. Shah Registrar, Er. SSA Rufai Principal SSMPTC, Sh. Adil Rashid Naqash Chief Administrative Officer, Heads of the Departments, Controller of Examinations and other officer of the College were also present.

Principal of the College thanked the Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and other dignitaries for sparing their precious time from their busy schedule to grace the occasion. He also thanked to the entire staff of the Institute for making the event a grand success and expressed gratitude to all for their participation in the event with zeal and enthusiasm.

Vivek Bali State Secertary JD(U) has expressed great shock and grief on the devastating fire that broke out yesterday in which a large number of shops were gutted down completely and many others damaged in this fire

 

In a statement issued here, Bali has appealed to the administration to dole out compensation in favour of the fire victims of the area whose shops were completely gutted down in this fire thus causing them huge loss which is a matter of serious concern.

 

Bali also demanded that the administration must expeditiously initiate construction and repair work of those shops that were badly damaged in this fire.

Srinagar : Meet 23 years old Qurat shah who is now author of two books and a co-author of several anthologies.

Qurat shah is from HMT area of central kashmirs srinagar district. Apart from her writing career, she is persuing bachelor’s degree in law from university of Kashmir. Her book namely ‘SINCE 90’s’ got published lately.

While interacting with Qurat shah, she said that it’s her second book which has been published. She has written her first book last year with the name of ‘Garden of pain’.

‘I love writing as it’s righly said that “paper has more patience than people”, she said.
” I believe that words are the most powerful weapon that one can have”, she added.
She doesn’t write for fame or publicity but she writes for contentment of her soul.

The book since 90’s is a collection of 6 fictional short stories based on real experiences, that encapsulate the agony, and angst faced by the Kashmiri people. This book will help you to get an idea of havoc going on in Kashmir for seven decades.

“I’ve tried to keep the book short and language friendly so that not only the book readers but anybody can give it a read, ” she said.

The Jammu and Kashmir association of social workers (JKASW) a leading child rights organisation of Jammu and Kashmir hosted ” Inter cluster learning and sharing program” at Municipal committee hall Hajin. Around 150 Adolescent Girls, 70 parents & Community from 15 villages of Hajin block of district Bandipura and intervention areas of JKASW’S took active part in the program.

The aim of the program was to provide adolescent girls an opportunity to directly interact with the Government and other stakeholders who directly or indirectly have impact on their lives. Adolescent girls shared their experiences, learnings and challenges they face at community and institutional levels. The program also helped different stakeholders to directly interact with the adolescents and bridge the gap which hampers adolescents from reaching out and seeking support from already existing government and non governmental institutions.

The program saw a huge gathering of ICDS supervisors, community heads, parents and Adolescent Girls. Besides these, prominent government Officials- ZEO Hajin, BMO Hajin, BDC Hajin, Tehsildar Hajin, DMHP Bandipura, who applauded the efforts of JKASW and their work on child rights.

The participants also applauded the efforts of JKASW to give adolescent girls a larger platform who put forward their views and opinions and were of the view that such programs shall be held regularly where girl’s themselves highlights the issue they face on day to day basis.

Eradication of Drug Menace is a Coordinated Effort, Every Stakeholder Should Play its Part: SSP Baramulla*

Baramulla, March 16: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and to educate the youth about its ill consequences, Department of Information and Public Relations Baramulla in collaboration with Police Drug De-addiction Center Baramulla and National Service Scheme(NSS) Government Degree College Baramulla today organized a day long seminar on ‘Drug Abuse’ in which a huge number of students, civil society members, religious heads among other prominent stakeholders showed their participation.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar presided over the seminar as the chief guest where as SSP Baramulla Rayees Mohammad participated as the guest of honour.

A series of lectures were delivered by the resource persons apart from college students who highlighted several aspects associated with drug addiction and the required remedial measures that needs to be taken to prevent our youth from this hazard.

The chief guest, in his address complimented the organizers as well as the participants participants and highlighted the need to protect our young generation from the menace. He said that drug abuse poses a serious challenge to our society and urged upon different sections of the society to act vibrantly against. He assured that every possible initiative from the district administration, shall be taken to nip this menace in the bud.

Enlisting various initiatives that are being taken towards youth engagement and empowerment, DC said that young generation is more vulnerable and the need is to target this section through their constructive engagement towards productive pursuits.

Highlighting the role of teachers, Bhupinder Kumar said that a teacher has a major role to play in this regard as he acts as a friend, philosopher and guide for a student. Meanwhile, he stressed upon the parents to closely monitor their children whether they are indulged into fallacious activities inflicted upon them through different mediums including mobile phones, internet etc. He also urged upon them to let their wards to choose different career avenues as it helps them to channelize their potential in a positive way.

SSP Baramulla, during his address signified the main aim of the seminar and said that lack of parental care and affection is the main cause that thrusts our youth towards drug addiction. He highlighted the role of parents and said that mother has a greater say in social development of a child as she acts as the first teacher and guide. He also reiterated the role of police department and said that stringent actions shall be taken against drug peddlers. He further that eradication of drug abuse is a coordinated activity for which every stakeholdern has to play its part.

Meanwhile, a short movie title “Ujdha Chamman” was screened by Police drug de-addiction centre Baramulla which evoked quite applause from the audience.

At the conclusion, commendation certificates were distributed among the best speakers.

Srinagar, Mar 15 : Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) president along traffic and police officials Tuesday tours Srinagar city to create awareness among shopkeepers, traders about parking rules.

According to a statement issued to media said, that CCIK president Tariq Ghani, along with SSP traffic, Muzaffar Shah, DP traffic Tarqi Ahmad, DSP police police, SHO Kothibagh, Isaaq Ahmad and other officials, visited trade city Lal Chowk, residency road, Maisuma, Badshah Chowk, and Hari Singh High Street to review the parking problems traders facing.

Ghani urged traders, shopkeepers to avail the benefits of parking slots made for them to park their vehicles for smooth flow of traffic.

Customers will be also given time to park their vehicles so that people could complete their shopping and traders too won’t get affected. “Shopkeepers too should aware the customers to park their vehicle’s in well manner so that traffic would ply smoothly”, Ghani said.

Mudasir, a multimedia professional, who hails from Sopore town, has become a household name for every Kashmiri as there is a selective source of entertainment in Kashmir

He has been winning the hearts of people through his entertaining and inspiring videos on various social media platforms particularly through his YouTube channel Koshur Kalakar.

The popularity of his YouTube channel ‘Koshur Kalakar’ surged so much that today he has lakhs of followers and subscribers on his various social media platforms.

“We try to keep all aspects and sensitivity of society in mind before shooting videos so that it may not hurt anyone’s sentiment,” says Mudasir Farooq.

He says that they try to create a space for the people to escape from harsh realities of life. “The only aim is to wipe the tears of our people. Nothing is unachievable in this world and no obstacle can stop a person from realising his dreams if one is determined and works hard towards the goal,” he said.

Mudasir is basically a project manager at a US based company – Pixopal, a leading photo retouching-as-a-service platform and making videos on YouTube is just his hobby.

“I still don’t take it as a career. To me this is a hobby and I’ll try to continue it that way. But if a bigger platform hires you, then one can think of making it as a profession,” he said.

Srinagar, March 09: A 22-year-old youth tried to end his life by slitting his throat in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday evening.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that a youth name (withheld), a resident of Ompora area tried to end his life by slitting his throat with some sharp object. “He allegedly had some dispute with his brother,” he said.

The said person has received nine stitches on his throat and is under treatment at district Hospital in Budgam.

A Police officer confirmed the incident and said further investigation has been initiated. (KDC)

SRINAGAR MARCH 09:-  The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad accompanied by Senior Superintendent  of Police, Rakesh Balwal Wednesday visited the family of Rafiya Nazir of Saderbal Check in Hazratbal area of the District who was killed in a grenade explosion at Amira Kadal on Sunday to provide ex-gratia relief and express solidarity with the bereaved family members.

While interacting with the family members of the deceased girl, the DC expressed sympathies with them and also expressed condolence with the bereaved family who lost their young member in the militancy related incident.

The DC assured the family that all possible support shall be provided to them from the government.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner handed over Rs 1 lakh cheque as ex-gratia relief to Nazir Ahmad Tinda, father of the deceased girl and told that another relief amount of Rs 5.0 Lakh shall be provided under Central Assistance Scheme.
Meanwhile SSP Srinagar assured the family of action under the law against the criminals.
