Pattan, June 18: A vibrant celebration of India’s diverse cultural heritage unfolded at Zorawar Hall, Pattan, on Thursday as the North Kashmir Cultural Festival-2026 (Shaam-e-Shafqat) brought together artists and audiences from across the country. The event was jointly organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Indian Army.
The festival showcased the rich cultural traditions of various Indian states, with renowned artists from Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Manipur, and Odisha captivating the audience through colourful folk dances, traditional music, and artistic performances. The day-long cultural extravaganza highlighted the unique heritage and artistic expressions of different regions, reflecting the spirit of India’s unity amidst diversity.
Soulful renditions of traditional songs and energetic dance performances created an atmosphere of celebration and patriotism. The event aimed to preserve, promote, and popularise India’s cultural legacy while strengthening cultural understanding and fostering connections between the youth of North Kashmir and the diverse traditions of the nation.
Students and members of civil society from different parts of North Kashmir attended the festival in large numbers. Their enthusiastic participation and appreciation underscored the significance of such initiatives in promoting cultural integration, national unity, and pride in the country’s rich heritage.
Organisers described Shaam-e-Shafqat as a meaningful platform for fostering harmony and strengthening cultural ties, emphasizing that shared traditions and values continue to unite people across regions and communities.
