Sopore, Dec 09: Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Sopore Parveez Sajad on Friday said that Sopore will witness better power supply this winter with minimum power cuts.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) he said that those using crude power equipment will not be spared and asked people to cooperate with the power utility for outages during technical issues or natural hazards.
Sajad said that they have set up teams to stop hooking and pilferage of power and action will follow against those found involved in power theft.
He appealed to people to clear their pending dues and avail the PDD amnesty scheme.
“There are a number of government departments which include that of security who have a huge amount of pending dues, it won’t be like they will be let go rather they too have to pay the pending bills”, the ADC added.
Furthermore, the ADC said that the damaged transformers will be repaired within 24 hours as they have sufficient stock available.
He urged people to be cooperative whenever there is some delay in restoring electricity in far off areas due to inclement weather—(KNO)
