PDP Sarpanch who was shot at and critically injured in a militant attack in Khonmoh area of Srinagar succumbed to the injuries, officials said.

“He succumbed to the injuries,” Medical Superintendent of the SMHS hospital here told GNS.

“He had 1-2 bullets in his chest and was immediately operated upon. However he succumbed to the wounds,” the Medical Superintendent added.

Earlier suspected militants fired upon the Sarpanch of PDP Sameer Ahmad Bhat at Khonmoh. He was shifted in injured condition to SMHS hospital and in the meanwhile entire area of cordoned off by police and army. However when this report was filed, no arrest had culminated.

A police officer told GNS that a case has been registered and further investigations taken up. (GNS)

One person was killed and 15 others injured in a mysterious blast at busy Slathia Chowk in Udhampur district on Wednesday, officials said.

A police officer told GNS that there was a blast this afternoon in the busy market, leading to on the spot death of a civilian and injuries to 15 others.

Soon after the information, senior police officers along with experts reached the spot and are trying to ascertain the nature the blast which hitherto remains mysterious.

The identity of the deceased as well as the injured persons was being ascertained, the police officer. (GNS)

A function was organized in the Open Air Auditorium of SSM College of Engineering Divar Parihaspora Pattan on 08-03-2022 to celebrate social, economic, cultural, political achievements of women. The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day was “BREAK THE BIAS” and different speakers highlighted the importance of breaking the bias that still exists in the society.

Registrar of the College Prof. (Dr.) N.A. Shah presented the key note address, highlighting the importance of celebrating the International Women’s Day.
On this occasion Director SSMD, Mrs. Insha Tauseef also stressed upon the women to express themselves in a positive manner without any bias towards any particular school of thought so as to move forward in a positive and progressive manner.

The other dignitaries present on the occasion included Lt. Col Satindar Singh (16 Core Badambagh) , Captain Baghishree (16 Core Badambagh), Saba Bhat (CEO GUIDE THE PROFESSIONALS AND FOUNDER OF KAASH NEW DELHI), Sana Imtiyaz (Entrepreneur), Dr. Sadaf (Community Health Officer), Dr. Sabia Bashir (Community Health Officer), Rukhsaar Sayed Shah (Sports Entrepreneur).

On this occasion Dr. Sajad Hussain Din Principal, Prof. (Dr.) N.A. Shah, Registrar, Er. SSA Rufai Principal SSMPTC, Sh. Adil Rashid Naqash Chief Administrative Officer, Heads of the Departments, Faculty Members and a huge number of students of the College were present.

The students of the College presented a Cultural programme in which mostly girl students took part and the programme was appreciated by one and all.

Jammu and Kashmir police Tuesday said that it has resolved the murder case of 8-year-old kid whose body was found today in the woods of Kupwara after almost three weeks and the two main accused have been arested.

“Since February 15, we had been probing all angles. We searched wetlands, woods and mainholes etc. During the course of investigations, it came to know that one Amir Khan and his mother hatched conspiracy to abduct and kill 8-year-old Talib,” SSP Kupwara Yougal Manhas told reporters as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

He said that over some personal rivalry with victim’s family, Amir Khan and his mother murdered the 8-year-old Talib and burried him in woods in Awoora area of Kupwara district.

The SSP said both accused have bewn arrested and further questioning is on—(KNO)

Police have arrested four persons after Rs 40000 were withdrawn with deception from the account of an elderly through ATM in the south Kashmir last month, officials said on Tuesday.

“ On 14 February last month, Police station Kulgam received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his old aged father had visited ATM of main branch J&K Bank Kulgam on February 6 and as his father is unable to utilise his ATM card he handed over it to an unknown person present in the ATM with the request to withdraw cash from his account and shared his PIN,” police said in a statement to GNS. “The person withdrawal cash on his request but with malafide intentions interchanged the ATM cards and thereof used the ATM of the victim and made withdrawal of a sum of Rs 40000 and carried out few more withdrawals from the account of complainant’s father.”

Taking cognizance of the matter, police said, a case (FIR No. 19/2022) U/S 420,380 IPC was registered and investigation was taken up. “During the course of investigation, a list of suspects was prepared and during questioning of these suspects investigation was zeroed down to four persons.”

He identified them as Sohail Ahmad Wani of Rangrezpora, Kulgam, (ATM Exchanger), Wasim Ahmad Ganai of Rangrezpora Kulgam, Adnan Ahmad Ahangar of Ziyarat Gali Kulgam and Umar Yaqoob Naik of Khuloora Malwan.” They confessed their involvement in different burglaries/offences and from their possession 06 ATM Cards, 06 mobile phones and a cash of Rs 15000 have been recovered,” police said, adding, “Further investigation of the case is in progress as more arrests and recoveries are expected.” (GNS)

A seven-year-old boy, who had gone missing from his home at Awoora village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on February 15, was found dead on Tuesday at Awoora forests, leaving the family shell-shocked.

“Yes, the body of Talib Hussain Khan, 7, a resident of Awoora village was recovered today and has been sent for post—mortem while an investigation has also been launched in the case,” Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

“Whether the missing child was murdered will be revealed only after the autopsy report,” they said.

Another official said, “It’s a tragedy. The police officers who had been searching for the Talib had hoped he would be found alive but unfortunately it did not happen.”

As already reported by KNO that on February 15, Talib, who was playing outside his residence, did not return home as usual. After having searched for him all over the area, his family lodged a complaint at the local police station.

An FIR was immediately filed and searches were carried out by multiple police teams but nothing was found till date, the official said—(KNO)

Qazigund, Mar 08  An unidentified truck driver was charred to death after his truck caught fire when it it came in contact with a high—voltage electric wire at Shampora area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday night, an official said.

“A truck (PB29X-4153) on reaching Shampora area of Qazigund came in contact with a high—voltage wire near the electric transformer” a police officer told  (KNO)

He said the driver was electrocuted eventually before the truck caught fire.

Later, the Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the scene on information and extinguished the fire. However, the vehicle was gutted and the driver was charred to death. “We have not yet identified the truck driver. We will inform his family once we will identify him,” said the police officer.

The truck driver’s body been sent to emergency hospital Qazigund for postmortem by police —(KNO)

The death toll in grenade blast at Amira Kadal here reached to two as a young woman lost battle for life at hospital here on Monday, officials said.

Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital here Dr Kawaljeet Singh told the 19-year-old Rafiya daughter of Nazir Ahmad Tinda of Dargah near NIT succumbed to her injuries. She had suffered multiple injuries in the blast which took place at 4:20 hours at the busy street on Sunday. The woman had scored 467 out of 500 (distinction) in the recent 12th class examination the result of which was declared last month by the J&KBOSE, her relatives and neighbours said. A pall of gloom descended in the locality when her body arrived at home for last rites. Hundreds of people participated in her funeral, reports said.

An elderly person Muhammad Aslam Makhdoomi (70) from Makhdoom Sahib area of Nowhatta Srinagar had died near the spot while 28 persons including a policeman were injured in the blast near the busy Amira Kadal bridge. The explosion took place while the area was abuzz with a huge rush shoppers who had thronged the week flea Sunday market. Police on Sunday evening detained several persons for questioning in connection the blast, a senior police officer said. (GNS)

Writing journey of author started in feb 2020 in a tuition centre when he was reading the book of Anne Frank titled “Form the dairy of Young Girl” in which a sentence”paper has more patience than people”inspired him to write.

His father Mohammad Roshan khan is a Govt employee and his mother Saleema Begum is house wife ,as said by author , family supports and also encourages him to write more for the betterment of society.

*Aim of Author*
Although While talking with Nasir ,he said as people say me I am multi-talented so I have multi aims, different desires ,in the field of Academics I want to join civil services but in the field of passion/profession I want to be a good author in the World and further I want to write different kinds of scripts for Bollywood and Hollywood industries.

For exploring talent of valley, Author has also his own platform titled Jannat de Jugnu where he promotes talent of Kashmir valley through online sessions competitions etc and he is regularly focused on his art.
Besides all that author aslo promotes his mother tongue Pahadi language through podcast”Pahadi talks with Nasir ” and he is volunteer of Gogo based global magazine .
Currently he is working on his second project. He tries to write about the topics of peace, humanity, unity etc.He has been fecilitated by various NGO’s of valley for his book “Heal The Humanity” and recently at Dak Bangalow he was praised with an award by jk students movement and he has also collaborated with Writers Desk and has setup his own unit of publication under Writers Desk titled “Nasir’s Book Club” for the budding authors of Kashmir valley to help them in publishing . And he was also awarded with “Pen Player of 2021” title given by JKSC .He want to save his society from present day social evils which are existing and spoiling the youth of our Valley ,he also participates in sports activities whether it may be at school level or other than school level ,he likes to play chess game and cricket game mostly as he considers playing games a good activity which keeps you fit and healthy.
